ROSA at the Golden Festival 2016

On January 16th, 2016 ROSA will perform at Brooklyn's Grand Prospect Hall, among 60 bands and 3000 revelers! Dance your way into the New Year with the music, song, and dance of the Balkans (and well beyond)!

We want to thank you for your love and support and to wish you a wondrous New Year!In 2016 we will continue to create the soundscapes of ROSA, and to welcome you to our growing world of music and ritual, of love and friendship, of folktale and creation. Do you miss snow in December? We certainly do, so we found it in this magical sight painted by Serbian artist Desanka Petrov Morar, depicting the original Serbian carolers - called "Koledari".Koledari would start their rounds at midnight on Christmas eve (Jan 6). As they walked through the village in their masks, they would shout, sing, joke and make noises to chase away the demons and spread the Winter spirit. May they bring warmth and joy to your heart and home!
